Vote! Vote! Vote for Books!
Hey kids: stop by the library and vote for your favorite book Tuesday, September 2 through Tuesday, November 4 (Election Day). We will announce the top three winners on Thursday, November 6. Participate and receive your choice of a bookmark or sticker. Also, you can get involved in the election process with Upstart's VoteForBooks.com program. This free, fun program gives readers a taste of our democratic process. Vote for your favorite picture and/or chapter books at www.VoteForBooks.com.
Download Station and MP3 Player Checkout
The library now has a dedicated computer for downloading MyMediaMall titles
directly to your mobile devices. Sign up to use the computer at the Adult
Services desk with your Cary Area library card. Additionally, the library
will soon begin checking out MP3 players. If you've never owned one before
and want to know what all the hype is about, or just need a player for temporary
use, visit the Circulation Desk with your Cary Area library card. You can
check one out for three weeks but remember to bring them back on time to avoid
the late fine of $1 a day. We will be having a computer class to demonstrate
how to download audio files to a M3 player.

Register To Vote At The Library
The last day to register to vote for the presidential election is Tuesday, October 7. In an effort to help, we will have extra staff available each Saturday in September from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. You may also register during our regular business hours (Monday-Thursday 9:00 am to 8:30 pm and Friday and Saturday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm). The process requires two forms of ID, one with your current address, and only takes a few minutes. Call the library (847.639.4210) with any questions
